- 3rd Meeting of
President Anand
President Anand also held his first Board meeting for the 2009-2010 Rotary year on this date.
In attendance were Treasurer Wayne McClain, Vice President Gary Getchell, President-elect Rusty Starr, Past President (PP) Pat Freeman, PP KK Singh, PP John Stephenson, PP Peggy White, Benjie Bates, Melissa Miller and Woody Boynton.
Items of interest include the following:
-The Board granted leave of absences to Susan Helwig, T.J. Sartiano, and Harvey Campbell.
-Dan Martinez request for exempt status was approved.
-One proposed member is ready for visitation.
-President Anand and the Board endorsed the 2009-2010 membership campaign, "90 Members Drive Campaign" in celebration of our club's 90th anniversary. The emphasis will be on finding quality members. Current membership stands at 86 active members.
-The Board voted to allocate funds to paint the sign at Rotary Park and will ask Dan Martinez to spearhead the project.
-The Board voted to make Joe and Bonnie Conner Honorary Members in recognition of their continuted contribution of funds to support the work of The Rotary Foundation (TRF). This year, the Conners donated $2,000 to support TRF. Every effort will be made to recognize the Conners when the District Governor visits on September 1.
-Several community request for funding and support were referred to the Community Needs Committee for review and recommendations to the Board.
-President Anand asked the Fellowship Committee to begin making plans for our 90th Anniversary celebration.
